ABSTRACT

The term “climate change” is often used to refer specifically to anthropogenic climate change (also known as global warming). Anthropogenic climate change is caused by human activity, as opposed to changes in climate that may have resulted as part of Earth’s natural processes. As the climate warms, it changes the nature of global rainfall, droughts, etc. (i.e. aspects of climate change). In the present chapter, we discuss all these aspects of climate change: increasing air temperature, rainfall patterns change, sea level rise, droughts, floods, and ocean acidification. It is so useful to understand all these different aspects of climate change.
