This chapter is dedicated to a detailed description of the methods of optical spectroscopy that we use in optical investigations. Monochromator on diffraction grids and the operating principle on these grids have been considered. The technique of determination of the band gap width of semiconductors by the spectra of optical transmission is presented. The main illuminating characteristics of electroluminescent emitters and devices and the methods for measuring electroluminescent emitter radiation characteristics are described.
