ABSTRACT

Organizations will approach the technologies at different stages, depending upon the resources available and the type of organization the Chief Information Security Officer is working within, as well as the risk appetite of the organization. Adopters fall into several types and tend to mirror the risk appetite of the organization. The early adopters are many times regarded as the “thought leaders” and work to influence the opinion of others to help spread the technology ideas. The organizations desiring to deploy the technologies created by these companies early in the life cycle will also most likely be filled with early adopter individuals. Wearable fitness technologies may also be used to collect information on exercise and lower insurance premiums. The various technologies all combine to create a digital experience and capability for the customer, combining mobile devices, wearables, virtual reality, Internet of things platforms, sensors, cloud computing, big data analytics, and understanding the customer and their needs through artificial intelligence.
