ABSTRACT

Standard catalogue production shall comply with Production Part Approval Process unless formally waived by the customer. Tooling shall be maintained for standard catalogue items as long as the items are offered or stated as being available. Evaluation of first time through (FTT), total actual cycle time (TAKT), total estimated cycle time (TACT). The formula for TACT is the same as that of the TAKT; however, the data for the calculation more often than not are based on surrogate data. Production parts are manufactured at the production site using the production tooling, gauging, process, materials, operators, environment, and process settings. A significant production run must be taken from the actual production. This can be from one hour of production, or 300 parts consecutive or as per the authorized customer representative—supplier technical assistance or supplier quality engineer. Production approval indicates that the part meets all customer specifications and requirements.
