ABSTRACT

47 An otherwise healthy male cat, with no significant medical history, presents after automobile-induced trauma. The cat has sustained severe orthopedic trauma to the left hind limb and presents in hypovolemic shock. Abdominal ultrasound exam reveals no evidence of major organ trauma, the gallbladder and biliary tree are readily visible, and there is no free fluid. Stabilization of the patient with intravenous fluids and pain control is uncomplicated.
