ABSTRACT

SQL Server Management Studio has many features besides database migration. Chapter 3 introduces visual database design using SQL Server Management Studio to help creating entity relationship diagrams. SQL Server Management Studio offers some useful features, for example, the Query Designer that can help users to write SQL statements and Query Options that allow users to view column headers. This chapter also introduces Generating Scripts tool, Activity Monitor, Disk Usage Report, Database Properties and Database Engine Tuning Advisor tool. This chapter covers back up SQL Servers in T-SQL, Agent jobs and the Maintenance Plan wizard.
