ABSTRACT
This chapter describes major hydraulic structures in the world. It includes canals (Grand Canal, Suez Canal, Panama Canal and South to North Water Diversion project), storm surge barriers (Oosterschelde, Maeslantkering, Thames, Venice Mose, Inner Harbor Navigation Canal Lake Borgne, Saint Petersburg Stormwater, Eider Barrage), and dams classified according to the installed generating capacity, height and storage.
