ABSTRACT
Students are introduced to various issues related to multimedia communication and networking in Chapter 10. In this context, network layers, multiplexing technologies and network topologies, LAN and WAN, access networks, and peripheral interfaces are described. Internet protocols, multimedia over ATM, quality of service (QoS), and synchronization issues in multimedia are also discussed.
