ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 describes the different aspects of text as a multimedia tool. The basic constituents of text, different ways of representing text, the use of typefaces and fonts, and the advantages and disadvantages of text as a multimedia tool are discussed. Also included are storage options using bitmap and vector font. Codes, character sets, encryption, and decryption are also presented.
