ABSTRACT
Congratulations on reaching the Ànal chapter. At points along the way you will have noticed the signiÀcant impacts that property has on environmental sustainability and in this Ànal chapter we revisit some of the main issues such as climate change and resource efÀciency. These are distinct problems that a property economist can help to mitigate. Another aspect of the sustainability debate relates to inequality of wealth and income, as fairness across generations and between countries needs to be addressed to improve how we all live. There are possibly fewer solutions that a property economist working in a professional capacity can contribute to address this speciÀc problem, but as we have discussed in several of the tutorial readings it has a major impact on the nature of real estate markets and cannot be ignored.
