ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the Eulerian methods based on solving governing differential equations on a stationary computational grid. It reviews the governing equations of magnetohydrodynamics. The chapter illustrates several solution methods using the one-dimensional advection diffusion model equation. It reviews additional electron models that can be used in hybrid PIC simulations instead of the Boltzmann relationship. Finally, the chapter develops a 1D-1V Vlasov solver for two-stream instability.
