ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on systematic analysis and decision-making. It begins with a brief note on process flow analysis and then reviews techniques for prioritization and important tools, such as histograms, stratification, scatter plots, and control charts. Sufficient examples are provided using these tools so that a reader with no prior basic training in the subject will understand and benefit from using these tools for problem-solving. Care is also taken to choose examples from various operational fields so that most readers can get an idea of multiple industry applications.
