ABSTRACT

An attempt has been made to involve a power electronic interface between source and load in improving the power quality. Multilevel inverter structures and their design are explained in this chapter. The choice of algorithms for the possible elimination of harmonics is explained in the chapter with simulation and experimental proof. The experimental results highlight the importance of intelligent controllers and their design for power quality improvement. Harmonic elimination in a grid-connected single-phase PV inverter is illustrated in the chapter. Designs of controller parameters with a novel approach are included in the chapter.
