ABSTRACT

The most commonly sought-after skill in an animator besides the skill of animation is rigging knowledge. This is because animators with a little bit of awareness of the techniques behind the controls can solve production problems on the fly. In the latest version of Maya, the rig cheats are ultra stable and time saving. The way people can cheat using the property of 3-D is to "spruce up" a rig with some dynamic objects. Since people are also using a referencing pipeline, rigging props allows animator to turn the prop file into a format that can be standardized across multiple scenes. In an ideal production setting, animators are given enough time to test animator's rigs before animators have to animate shots. One of the best ways to cheat in animation is to take advantage of the fact that Maya interpolates motion for animator.
