ABSTRACT
In this chapter, some of the basic techniques required in health physics laboratories for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of samples are discussed. These include gross α and β counting of samples and the use of spectrometry and other methods for identifying radionuclides. Methods for leak testing radioactive sealed sources are also described.
