ABSTRACT

Ecodesign involves working on the procedures implemented to fulfil each of the sequential tasks. Ecodesign has more impact in the project design phase, that is, when the essential choices are made. During production, progress can be made, but to a much lesser extent. Industrials in the building sector fit into two main categories: producers of half-finished products and suppliers of components. For half-finished products, suppliers must provide technical information sheets defining the environmental impacts resulting from manufacture and delivery of their contribution. The transparency of the impact calculation primarily relates to the bill of quantities, which needs to be approved by a third party. Ecodesign’s initial focus is to maintain a certain level of performance for the building. In the production phase, it takes a slightly different approach to the setting-up of tasks, by looking at the risks of deterioration.
