ABSTRACT

Physiological events in the body generate biosignals that contain valuable information and, when these events are detected, the corresponding signals can be extracted and analyzed. Features of the signal—such as the amplitude (peak), morphology, energy and entropy distribution, frequency content, and intervals between events—are of particular interest for information extraction. Identifying the dominant events within these biomedical signals provides additional insight and detail about the events, thus enabling the development of more accurate diagnostic tools.
