ABSTRACT

The moving targets theme is probably the simplest theme from the perspective of the player, and yet it is probably the most complex from the perspective of the designer. The timing jump is the foundation of the moving targets skill theme. What the designers are doing is to manipulate the player's most important skill in this skill theme: prediction. From the designer's perspective, the moving targets theme is probably the most complex theme. Star World 4 is the only level in the Star World that it fits neatly into a skill theme and progresses in a mostly normal way. Instead of having to react, the player has to plan around the enemy's movement and jump at the right time, and that's definitely a skill in the moving targets skill theme. Way cool is the most difficult level in this skill theme, although it's different from the pinnacle levels in other skill themes because it doesn't include an accumulation.
