ABSTRACT
In the case of Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, the vector components are complex numbers. This chapter provides a very simple introduction to linear algebra. In the computer language Python, augmented with the numerical package NumPy, so-called row major indexing is used for arrays and the elements in an array are numbered from zero. The Python NumPy package is very efficient in manipulating arrays, vectors and matrices. Numerical Python indexes two-dimensional array and matrix objects in this way. Quegan in 2004 provided thorough introductions to SAR remote sensing, SAR image statistics, image analysis and interpretation.
