ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on processes to generate liquid products meeting customer specifications. Two major liquid products are generated in the gas plant: condensate and natural gas liquids (NGLs) removed from the raw gas. The chapter discusses typical condensate specifications and the limited condensate processing. The chapter then discusses commonly used processes to remove trace sulfur compounds including H2S and mercaptans. Most treating methods for gas are applicable to liquid treating but the chapter discusses what must be done differently in treating liquids. It also covers regenerative processes specifically designed to remove mercaptans. The chapter discusses liquid dehydration processes to remove water introduced in sweetening. Finally, the distillation train needed to produce pure liquid products from NGL is briefly described and gives typical operating conditions for each column service.
