ABSTRACT

To give a more complete picture of natural gas technology, this chapter discusses the transport and storage of gas after it leaves the gas plant. It covers the interconnection between the gas processing plant, marketing hubs, storage facilities, and local distribution companies, which sell the gas to end users in the United States. It provides data on large transmission lines and describes the role of market hub centers. The chapter discusses seasonal storage and compared advantages and disadvantages of the three common large-scale gas storage methods. Finally, the chapter describes the transport of the various liquid products and common storage methods.
