ABSTRACT
Prediction of outcome with count data is another important area like logistic regression for binary data. Poisson regression is one model to estimate the average number of ‘rare events’ those which occur with some specialty attached. The number of mobiles phones or credit cards owned by an individual indicates a particular life style. The number of visits of a person to a particular clinic in a month is also an example of count data. This chapter has a discussion on understanding Poisson regression model with the help of R software as well as SPSS. Illustrations with some real data sets are also given
