ABSTRACT
The explanations and meanings of the words that form the names of the South Asian mammals reported from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are reported in this chapter. The entries are listed in an alphabetical order, and each entry provides an explanation or meaning of the word. For the convenience of easy cross-referencing, the generic names, subspecies and so on are provided in parentheses.
