ABSTRACT

"Quality management" has noticeably developed due to increasing needs of the society for ensuring that products and services consistently meet customer requirements. In order to comply with the expectations of the society for quality, producers of services and products devise for themselves quality management systems (QMS) that fit to their objectives and operations. QMS, therefore, uses Quality assurance and Quality control of processes as well as the consequential discoveries to achieve more consistent quality. Regarding the roots of QM, some have a different view and state that it had begun even much earlier when humans started taking notes after the discovery of writing. There are a number of system standards and technics used in setting up and improvement of quality. International Organization for Standardization 9001 is by far the most recognized and implemented quality management system standard in the world.
