ABSTRACT

Project control is a function that directly supports project execution by focusing primarily on the project progress and project costs in order to make evaluations for the management. In process plant projects, the overall "planning" and "monitoring" tasks for "time," "cost," and "resources" are delegated to project control for handling by way of data collection, evaluation, and reporting. Successful completion of a project highly depends on effective use of good project control practices applied from the very beginning to encompass all stages of the project. Good planning-scheduling increases efficiency and reduces time of completion, resources to be employed and expenditures to be made while minimizing risks involved in the contract. Work breakdown structure is a hierarchical arrangement of project work scope and services in form of levels that break down to bring in more details.
