ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 discusses the following 16 charts commonly used by project managers and systems engineers for thinking about and performing problem-solving: Bar Charts, Compound Bar Charts, Financial Charts, Cause and Effect Charts, Compound Line and Bar Charts, Control Charts, Flowcharts, Hierarchical Charts, Histograms, N2 Charts, Pareto Charts, Product-Activity-Milestone (PAM) Charts, Pie Charts, Polar Charts, Trend Charts and XY Charts. The chapter goes into some detail for some of the more complicated charts. For example, it provides the rules for drawing a Flowchart and discusses the most common mistakes made when drawing Flowcharts. The chapter also discusses in detail N2 Charts and the PAM Chart, a useful tool for project planning.
