ABSTRACT
The availability of gas specific information that is relevant to the installation of piped flammable laboratory gases is spread throughout the scientific, manufacturing, and engineering community with a little cross-reference between the various areas of expertise. Copper tube must not be used for the construction of acetylene pipelines. Acetylene reacts with a number of materials which must not be allowed to come into contact with the gas; these include copper tube, stainless steel tube, electropolished stainless steel tube, brass and synthetic tube. Automatic manifolds provide a continuous supply of gas that is connected to two independent banks of gas cylinders. Manual manifolds provide a continuous supply of gas that is connected to two independent banks of gas cylinders. Carbon monoxide is a highly flammable gas; it is odorless and highly toxic. Carbon monoxide is used in calibration gas mixtures for the petrochemical industry, environmental emission monitoring, industrial hygiene monitors and trace impurity analyzers.
