ABSTRACT
Several hydrogeological terms are defined and descriptions of different hydrogeological contexts are provided as examples of groundwater occurrences. A majority of these illustrations show the importance of a clear and thorough understanding of the geological context for the deduction of basic information before further hydrogeological investigation.
