ABSTRACT

The organization’s short-term competitiveness can be realized through strategic success attributes of different products, while the long-term competitiveness can be attained through the competency of an organization to deliver cost effective innovative products with a high degree of flexibility. Manufacturing competency, along with competence management, is comprised of management, leveraging, building, and deployment of operational competencies and strategies. Strategic success embodies formulation and execution of key organizational objectives, taking available resources into account and by making holistic considerations of internal and external organizational competitive environments. Strategic planning must yield the necessary data and facilitate the organization to execute management efficiently in realizing business potential. Functional strategies of manufacturing, market orientation, and human resource management have an impact on competitive strategy. The fundamental characteristic of product development strategies is based on variety, and leads to introduction of the new perspective of product platforms. The automotive sector is flexible in the development of strategies. These strategies are significantly correlated with competitiveness.
