ABSTRACT

In a large, complex construction project, the one critical system used during the execution of the work is the Work Management System. The goals of the Work Management System are to:

Manage the work of all EPC Contractors so that their milestone dates are in alignment with those for the project and the Level 5 Baseline schedule

Provide early warning to the EPC Program or Project Manager that an area of work is starting to fall behind schedule so that corrective action can be implemented immediately

Ensure that all of the costs involved with the execution of the work are aligned with those established in the project’s budget

Provide the EPC Construction Manager with assurance that the work being performed during each phase of construction is following the project’s Construction Execution Plan (CEP)

Ensure that the work being performed is in accordance with all specified EPC HSE guidelines and contractual specifications

Monitor and report information weekly to EPC management, as well as the customer, regarding the progress of the construction work onsite and any emerging issues that require management’s support for resolution
