ABSTRACT

Reengineering is a continuous modification and redesigning of business processes to achieve more improvement in quality, cost, performance, services, and response in a business, whereas business process is the collective term for activities which implement what consumer or market desire for a product or service. Information technology (IT) allows for an efficient and effective change.

One of the main factors for successful business process reengineering (BPR) is to implement IT into process reengineering. The modern IT has improved significantly and is advantageous to business critically. IT also requires a huge investment on both IT equipments and labor IT courses. New forms and types of human resource management, decision authority, and organizational structure, as well as better application of decentralized decision-making authority and use of self-directed teams will be the result of the implementation of IT in BPR.
