ABSTRACT
In the preceding chapter, we used a statistical test of hypothesis to compare the unknown mean of a single population to some fixed, known value μ 0. In practical applications, however, it is far more common to compare the means of two different populations, where both means are unknown. Often, the two groups have received different treatments or undergone different exposures.
