ABSTRACT
As another example consider direct pair production by a muon incident on a very heavy nucleus of mass M, spin zero, and charge Ze. In the laboratory the process is something like the one shown in Fig. 26-1. The important processes contributing to direct pair production are shown in Fig. 26-2 (a) and (b). Note that –q1 is the true momentum of the positron.
