ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a speculative kind, for they lack both a mathematical formulation and a rigorous mathematical justification. The classical controversy of determinism is grafted onto the known defects of mechanical models. It is generally supposed that classical mechanics deals with phenomena of the macroscopic world, which are therefore rigidly deterministic, whereas phenomena at the quantum level are fundamentally indeterministic. The scalar measures of information should be geometrically interpreted as the topological complexity of a form. The idea of stored information or memory leads, from the point of view of general dynamics, to a curious paradox. The impossibility of measuring the energy of a system at a given instant, as a consequence of the uncertainty principle. The phenomenon of threshold stabilization is one of the typical features of biological morphogenesis; singularities that should never have appeared, because their codimensions are too large, appear in a stable way.
