ABSTRACT
Here Poisson regression is introduced and its connection to Cox regression is discussed. We start by definingthe Poisson distribution, then discuss the connection to Cox regression and tabular lifetime data. Thisserves as an introduction to survival and event history analysis with occurrence/exposure data as responsein a proportional hazards model, which is the topic of Chapter 7.
