ABSTRACT

In this section, we summarize the use of the scheme for calculating the thermodynamic characteristics of Kelvin and Gibbs surface tension of curved surfaces in small systems. These topics include: 1) modifications of thermodynamic equations for refinements of Gibbs constructions, 2) constructions that are intermediate between classical and statistical thermodynamics – approaches to which molecular parameters are introduced; 3) statistical theories that use concepts of the surface of tension by analogy with thermodynamics [11, 19].
