ABSTRACT

Thus, the relaxation times of metastable drops show that with a decrease in their size, a rapid change in the internal state of the drop occurs. This process is much faster than previously thought. The presence of equilibrium drops broadens the spectrum of physically realizable drop states during nucleation. In the general case, in order to calculate the dynamics of the nucleation process, it is necessary to take into account all types of drops that can form within a certain local region of the vapour during diffusion inhibition of its mixing.
