ABSTRACT
For most calculations of vacuum parameters, it is necessary to use the concepts of the kinetic theory of gases. The discussion in this chapter is limited to the relevance of these concepts to vacuum science and technology. The reader is suggested also to refer to the excellent literature1,2,3,4 published on the subject.
