ABSTRACT
The wave energy industry is characterised by a lack of convergence on a single device concept. There exists a large number of device concepts (EMEC 2018) none of which have yet been proven to be commercially viable. Efforts are being made to reinvestigate the wave energy concept design space and development of new device concepts are being promoted (WES 2018), (EERE 2018) with the aim of achieving a “step-change” in WEC efficiency.
