ABSTRACT

The NaGa(NH 2 ) 4 quaternary compound, which crystallizes in the monoclinic structure with the lattice parameters a = 742.3 ± 0.6, b = 610.7 ± 0.5, c = 1285 ± 1 pm, and β = 92°15′ ± 15′, is formed in the Ga–H–Na–N system (Molinie et al. 1973). This compound was obtained by the action of sodium solution in liquid NH3 on gallium in tubes sealed at ambient temperature.
