ABSTRACT
An important factor for the successful use of swine in biomedical research is knowledge about the specific husbandry requirements of swine. Housing, feeding, and care should be appropriate to the anatomy, physiology, and behavioral characteristics of this species. Changes in environmental conditions, feeding, and care may have an impact on experimental results in swine studies.
