ABSTRACT
The NM department is a radiation-clean, radiation-safe environment in which patients are cared for during the diagnostic and therapeutic tests needed to alleviate their illnesses. Radiation workers (radiopharmacists, NMTs, and nuclear physicians) must pay close attention to every step of each procedure to ensure the safety of the patients, the staff, and the visitors. According to the ALARA policy, all exposures must be minimized and all unnecessary exposures prevented.
