ABSTRACT
Computers have become such an accepted part of our everyday lives that it
becomes easy to lose perspective on the fundamental issues of computer use:
why they are or are not appropriate in a given situation, what they should and
shouldn’t be expected to do, and how to achieve the computer capability
needed. These questions have become markedly more complex in recent years
as the computer industry has offered many new possibilities while simultaneously
raising new questions.
