ABSTRACT

A male patient in his early 20s presented for evaluation of traumatic facial scarring and tissue loss, which occurred as a result of dermal wounding sustained whilst on military duty. Regenerative treatments were indicated in order to facilitate cellular rejuvenation with a view to improving scarring, rebuilding damaged tissue, and enhancing skin quality. Post-traumatic scarring is difficult to treat and can typically result in a person experiencing life-long disfigurement. A treatment plan was devised in order to introduce cellular material into those areas of the face and neck where it was not currently present. His facial features were not only repaired and regenerated, but also rejuvenated. The effect on the patient's psychological wellbeing was transformative, and people are pleased to report that his confidence was restored to the extent that he has since represented his country at the Paralympics, and has started a new family, being a proud father of a daughter.
