ABSTRACT

The matrix consists of fibrin, collagen, and the elastin, which gives the skin its bounce, its strength, and its flexibility. Transforming growth factor (TGF) also stimulates angiogenesis, which is an increase in the supply of blood that stimulates the growth of new blood vessels. The cells react by forming new blood vessels around the blockage. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is also of particular interest in healing. Fibrin is one of the proteins that form blood clots. The advantage of PRF is that it can be used to form a construct that occupies a space, whereas PRP is a liquid, rather than a gel. Facial treatments that make use of PRP are excellent for both subdermal tissue regeneration, and also for surface concerns such as crow's feet, dark circles, sun damage, scarring, enlarged pores, and areas of severe collagen depletion. It is highly effective for rebuilding the structures beneath the skin that have waned with age.
