Catalytic Asymmetric Michael Addition of Heteroatom-centered Nucleophiles to Nitroalkenes

Conjugate addition of P, S, N and O-centered nucleophiles in the presence of diverse chiral catalysts for the generation of nitroalkanes bearing a heteroatom at the β-position is described in this chapter. While bifunctional organocatalysts were employed in most cases, sporadic reports on metal-chiral ligand catalyzed reactions have also appeared in the literature.
