ABSTRACT

Natural systems are run by their own processes and principles. In biological systems, meter-to- nanometer-long systems and subsystems exist. Several natural techniques make the biological processes continuously work and maintain the system’s function. Several processes are active in the biological organ’s building blocks, cellular systems. The concept of bionanotechnology and the molecular machines of the biological systems evolved from initial thoughts of Richard Feynman about six decades ago. Natural nanotechnologies of ion channels are capable of self-running the nanomachines “ion channels.” The required energies are instantaneously supplied locally through versatile molecular processes. Various techniques have been adopted in addressing the biological machineries including ion channels. Two major aspects are of great interest, namely, the functions of the machineries and the source(s) of energies required to fuel the machines’ operating requirements. Magnetogenetics stands at the forefront of the tools for perturbation of neural activity, and this technique is applicable in regulating ion channel nanotechnology.
