ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an introduction to advanced techniques in Short Simulation (sim) design. One technique in storyboarding is to add some visual variety to a sim beyond just changing the background. For example, role-plays can involve more cinematic screen layouts. The chapter presents information on presenting levels. In some sims In other sims, levels can be accessed individually and sometimes in any order. Where levels can be accessed individually, some may be optional. The chapter provides examples of individually accessed, but sequential levels in a venture capitalist sim and independent, individually accessed levels. Easter eggs are pieces of interesting content that can be discovered in an experience. One favorite form of Easter egg is different interesting endings to sim. Humor, dry and optional, should be thought of as a category of Easter eggs.
