The role of Short Sims is to develop competence and conviction. The learning model should be discovery based, with players proving to themselves ideas. Text should be short, with a much greater role being given to visuals and interactions. Short Sims should be easy to start playing, without a set of directions needed, or even a separate download. In terms of production time frames, Short Sims matches other educational content. Unlike traditional serious games, building a few Short Sims can be done in a corporate time frame, relatively quickly. The creation of a short sim includes identifying the interactivity that could support a dynamic serious game, but then only presenting the most interesting paths through it. The power of Short Sims is to leverage simple technology to allow people to imagine any interface, and present any experience, and then be able to put it where people need it.
