ABSTRACT

This chapter provides some guidelines for the people who plan projects, including those trying to create a response to a proposal and discusses planning assumptions and expectations. It should take an organization the same work effort to create a replayable, seven-minute Short Sim (of roughly six levels) as it does to create a finished eight-page case study. One goal of most Short Sim design processes is speed. Different skills are needed to create a Short Sim. An experienced designer can take on most of the roles and produce a finished sim by himself or herself. In a production environment, teams may involve: designer, subject matter expert, client manager, project manager, database systems integrator, and artist and other talents. With support, one experienced, internal, full-time sim designer can produce one sim a week.
